Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist with CNN and HLN. The station airs her regularly on CNN's "New Day Weekend" and HLN's "Weekend Express', as being a regular guest on CNN International shows. She served as a local station meteorologist in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga prior to becoming a part of CNN. She has covered everything from hurricanes, blizzards flood events, wildfires. She received an Emmy nomination for her reporting of Hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas in the year 2019. In April 2011, she covered super tornado outbreak, in which 350 tornadoes struck Southeastern United States within four days. Over 200 of them occurred on April 27, 2011. Her background as an environmental researcher made it possible for her to publish stories concerning climate change, as well as natural catastrophes like volcanoes, earthquakes and other. Chinchar received a bachelor's of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
